The Dog House Family - Part 2

Sakshi

Bouncer & his sisters

Sakshi

Sakshi was rescued with a leg injury after an auto ran her over. She had to have that leg amputated. She now lives a peaceful life at Dog House. Anybody who wishes to virtually adopt her is welcome to contact us. She's a sweet dog who gets along well with people and other dogs. Please WhatsApp 9500058836 if you'd like to adopt Sakshi physically or virtually.

Saira

Bouncer & his sisters

Sakshi

Saira was disowned by her family after she was spayed. They had been breeding her commercially. She became useless to them after she was spayed so she was dumped. She has since been a part of the Dog House family. A beautiful, agile Kombai who effortlessly scales walls as high as eight feet! If you wish to adopt Saira virtually, please WhatsApp 9500058836.

Two boys and four girls. One of the boy pups later found a home. The other five, however, had no luck. And that's how Bouncer ( in the picture) and his four sisters, Reetu, Latte, Pancake and Jumper, became a part of the Dog House family. They're an agile bunch! They've developed muscles stronger than what you'd see on most body builders as a result of their non-stop running and jumping!

She made her way out of the lake and starting walking down the road, on a hot afternoon, when Keerthi, who was driving by, spotted her and picked her up. As the dog healed and her fur grew back, she looked nothing like the dog Keerthi had picked up from the streets. She was aptly named 'Hope'. She found hope in a hopeless situation.

Her forever home turned out to be Dog House. She's called Mittaai ( meaning 'sweet') and responds to Mittu. She's the self-designated guardian of the roosters and hens living at Dog House. She's also best friends with Sheldon, our pig.

Genie

Mittu

Mittu

A domesticated dog, who looked to be about seven months' old, was dumped in Neelankarai. Keerthi found him hiding under a car during her routine feeding of the neighbourhood dogs one evening. He reluctantly approached her for food. Once fed, he clung to her and followed her home. Genie never found a second home so Keerthi decided to keep him. He's the silent mischief-maker at Dog House.

Keerthi started feeding two neighbourhood pups in Neelankarai. What she didn't expect was that they'd follow her home discreetly. One day, they waited outside her home during a heavy downpour. Drenched to their bones. It was at that moment that they found their forever momma. Nobody came forward to adopt them despite Keerthi's efforts. They've been part of the big Dog House family since.

Ammu

A dog relentlessly stalked Keerthi on her six-day holiday in Kodaikanal. The dog followed her into the jungle, slept outside her cottage in the cold, accompanied her to the river and simply refused to leave her side. When Keerthi finally finished her holiday and left for Chennai, it was with a heavy heart. Two months later, she went back to Kodaikanal, found the dog and brought her home. Ammu is naturally a therapy dog. She loves everyone and is loved by everyone. She's a beautiful Dalmatian mix who has adapted beautifully to life in Chennai. Ammu has epilepsy but is otherwise a healthy dog.

All Keerthi intended to do was spay a dog living in the vicinity of Dog House. Little did she know that this dog would adopt her. Kalpana was picked up from the street, vaccinated, spayed and released back into her territory after recovery. She returned to Dog House by herself. She was released yet again. Kalpana was picked up from the street, vaccinated, spayed and released back into her territory after recovery. She returned to Dog House by herself. She was released yet again. She still found her way back. And so......Keerthi had only one option. Adoption. Meet Kalpana. She's better than Google Maps!

Bheem

Pumpkin

Kalpana

Bheem was rescued in July 2024 after he had been abandoned by his previous owners and run over by a vehicle. He was left with broken hips. After undergoing hip surgery and receiving love and care at Dog House, Bheem has flourished into a magnificent boy. If you wish to adopt Bheem virtually, please call 9500058836.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a Labrador Retriever puppy. She's blind by birth but that doesn't stop her from living it up! She's a high-energy puppy who loves chewing her toys as much as she loves chewing human arms, legs and ears. It takes a team to manage her!
